highlighted below are various collections that include paintings, prints, photographs, and films, featured randomly, and subject to change at whimsy.
alex corrigan primarily works with oils and acrylic paint on large scale canvas. She has series from abstract work that use specialized paint that reflect specific spectrums of light, layered architecturally to create dynamic pieces that change with quality of light and over time; one example is above (ocean floor, 2023).
inspired by too many references to list, alex is inspired by the absurd, and loves to include works of people in her paintings. most are large scale.
alex has a love of lithography and monotype, producing prints using french impressionist techniques.
alex has worked as a photographer and filmmaker for theatre companies, influencing her current work's inspiration of flat space, sculptural moods and expression without gesture. most recently, she worked as a photojournalist with major projects in india, nepal, spain and greece. below are excerpts from some recent series. the most recent collections of 'november' and 'tactile earth' are due to show in an upcoming group gallery photography exhibition and prints available to purchase individually (contact).
